Dear Maltese citizens,
As we come together to celebrate the joy of this Christmas season, I extend my warmest and most heartfelt greetings to you all, both as individuals and as Maltese communities living across the world. This time of year, embodies unity and reflects the values that shape our identity. Though many miles may separate us, the spirit of Christmas draws us closer, reminding us of the profound ties that bind us as one Maltese family scattered across the globe.
We look back on this past year as one in which we continued to drive forward meaningful reforms and strengthen our nation for the benefit of our people. Malta has remained at the forefront in advocating for peace through our various contributions within the international community. Our efforts extended well beyond our six-month Presidency of the Council of Europe, reaching other shores where we championed dialogue as the true path to peace, particularly within our Mediterranean region, but also far beyond it.
Our commitment to global peace will remain steadfast. I am confident that Malta’s voice will continue to be heard on vital issues: from promoting peace and mediation to strengthening diplomatic ties across continents. The identity of our nation is built on resilience, respect, and compassion, values that endure wherever Maltese people call home.
We take great pride in being Maltese, a pride that extends far beyond our shores. I am deeply moved by every citizen who continues to honour our traditions while living abroad.
To all Maltese communities living overseas, we express our sincere gratitude. Your dedication ensures that the Maltese identity continues to thrive. You serve as a bridge between generations and between nations, strengthening our diaspora and reaffirming the enduring bonds that define who we are.
