The 16th Annual Meeting of the Council for the Maltese Living Abroad

The Council for the Maltese Living Abroad convened for its annual meeting on the 30th and the 31st of October 2024 at Palazzo Spinola in St Julian’s. Comprised of 15 members, including representatives from Australia, the United States, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, the Council gathered in Malta to discuss its work, address issues faced by Maltese communities abroad, share ideas and proposals, and devise a strategic roadmap for the future of the Council. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade Ian Borg, also included a discussion with President Myriam Spiteri Debono on challenges faced by the Maltese diaspora. Key topics included the Maltese language, citizenship, regional councils, as well as a number of presentations on collaborations with other entities.
